SINGAPORE, 3rd April 2025 – Accor, a global leader in hospitality, today announced its remarkable achievements in 2024 and outlined ambitious growth plans for 2025. The Group celebrated record performance in new signings, portfolio expansion, and sustainability initiatives, reinforcing its position as an industry pioneer.
Unprecedented Expansion in 2024
Accor’s global footprint grew significantly with the opening of 293 hotels and resorts, adding 50,000 rooms to its portfolio. The Group now operates over 5,680 hotels and 850,000 rooms worldwide, with an additional 1,381 properties and 233,000 rooms in the pipeline. This growth reflects Accor’s strategic focus on high-value developments, particularly in the Middle East and Asia, where over 60% of its 2025 openings are planned.
Key drivers of this expansion include emerging travel trends such as conscious travel, ‘bleisure’ (blending business and leisure), and gig tripping. These trends, especially popular among younger travellers, highlight a shift toward longer stays and alternative destinations. Accor is well-positioned to capitalize on these opportunities with its diverse brand portfolio and commitment to sustainability.
Sustainability and Conversion Strategy
Sustainability remains central to Accor’s growth strategy. By the end of 2024, 36% of its hotels achieved eco-certification—a 330% increase from 2023. The Group also prioritized conversions over new constructions, with 58% of new projects involving brand conversions. Leading brands like Emblems, MGallery, Mondrian, Handwritten Collection, Mercure, and TRIBE spearheaded this initiative, aligning with Accor’s goal to minimize environmental impact while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Market Leadership Across Segments
Accor’s Premium, Midscale & Economy (PM&E) Division demonstrated strong momentum in 2024, with iconic brands such as Pullman, Novotel, and Ibis driving growth. Mercure surpassed 1,000 hotels, while Ibis expanded into its 80th country, and Ibis Styles neared the 700-hotel milestone. Notable openings included Pullman Budapest, Novotel Istanbul Bomonti, and Ibis Jakarta Raden Saleh.
The TRIBE brand, catering to design-conscious travellers, expanded with new locations in Budapest and Bangkok, while Handwritten Collection, launched in 2023, grew to over 25 hotels in cities like Paris, Sydney, and Singapore. Accor’s premium segment saw a 150% increase in signings since 2019, now encompassing more than 500 hotels globally.
Camil Yazbeck, Chief Development Officer, Premium, Midscale & Economy, stated:
“2024 was a landmark year for our PM&E brands, fueled by strong demand and strategic conversions. With a robust pipeline and owner-centric approach, we are poised to lead the next wave of hospitality growth.”
Luxury & Lifestyle: Unmatched Excellence
Accor’s Luxury & Lifestyle (L&L) Division achieved remarkable milestones, opening one hotel per week and signing six projects monthly. The portfolio includes iconic properties like Raffles London at The OWO, The Plaza in New York, and Sofitel Roma Villa Borghese.
In 2024, the Group celebrated openings such as Raffles Sentosa Singapore, Fairmont Breakers Long Beach, and Sofitel Cairo Downtown Nile. The lifestyle segment, led by Ennismore, saw the debut of Delano Dubai, Rixos Tersane Istanbul, and Hyde Johannesburg.
The relaunch of the legendary Orient Express in April 2025 marks another highlight, alongside new signings like Raffles Tokyo and SLS Playa Mujeres, Accor’s first all-inclusive resort in Mexico.
Agnès Roquefort, Chief Development Officer, Luxury & Lifestyle, commented:
“Our luxury and lifestyle brands continue to redefine hospitality. With a focus on transformative experiences and strategic partnerships, we are shaping the future of high-end travel.”
Looking Ahead to 2025
Accor is strategically positioned to leverage growth opportunities in key markets like Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. The Group’s 2025 pipeline includes luxury resorts, lifestyle hotels, and mixed-use developments under Accor One Living, which now supports 7,000+ homeowners across 50 branded residences.
With innovation, sustainability, and guest-centricity at its core, Accor is set to redefine hospitality in 2025 and beyond.
