Winter has officially landed in PUBG MOBILE, and this year’s Version 4.1 Update is turning the battlegrounds into a frosty playground of chaos, charm, and creativity. From an all-new Frosty Funland mode to adorable penguin allies, festive trials, and major gameplay upgrades, this is one update that’s impossible to chill out on.
Welcome to Frosty Funland
The spotlight of Version 4.1 is the Frost Festival, featuring the brand-new Frosty Funland mode — a snow-covered wonderland filled with challenges, rewards, and some unlikely heroes. Players will explore Penguinville, a bustling metropolis built by penguins who’ve migrated from their melting homeland.
Among the quirky new characters is PowNin, the Ninja Penguin, PUBG MOBILE’s first AI penguin companion. PowNin can be commanded with voice, text, or quick commands — and yes, it wields shurikens and snacks at the same time. Whether skating across icy trails or completing festive missions for exclusive rewards, players can expect a mix of light-hearted fun and competitive intensity.
PUBG Frost Festival Events & Rewards
The celebration continues with the Frosty Funland Themed Trial, where squads complete festive missions under pressure. After unlocking all NPCs, players earn the Party Mailbox Key, unlocking a four-player challenge that rewards teamwork and endurance with exclusive achievements.
And when 12 December rolls around, PUBG MOBILE’s Frost Festival Event transforms the maps into full-on holiday zones — with Wintercrest Hall, Snowy Vale, festive soundtracks, and even Winter Vehicle Speakers blasting cheerful tunes as you race through Erangel or Livik. Players can also light up the skies in the New Year Countdown Firework Event and contribute to a charity campaign supporting penguin conservation in South Africa and South America. Every in-game action helps reach the global milestone — unlocking a US$100,000 donation and an exclusive digital certificate for all participants.
Classic Mode Gets a Makeover
In time for PMGC 2025, Classic Mode gets an esports-inspired revamp. Expect PMGC-themed areas, collectible Champion Packs, and photo spots for your next squad selfie. Teams that check in together can even earn the Crown of Glory, a special item that restores Health and Energy for nearby teammates.
Other gameplay improvements include firearm balancing, realistic long-range bullet drop, improved sound effects, and the new Boatyard area on Erangel. Plus, the new Loot Truck system drops crates as you damage it — a fun new risk-and-reward mechanic for loot hunters.
Seasons, Arenas, and More
Version 4.1 also kicks off Cycle 9 Season 27, with fresh rewards and ranked events across Classic, Casual, and Ultimate Royale modes. Crazy Chicken Day returns every weekend for bonus rewards, and the Ranked Arena Event (27 Nov – 1 Jan) introduces intense team modes like TDM, Assault, and Domination with exclusive tier prizes.
Fans of Metro Royale get new Snow Crates, enhanced 1v1 custom matches, and updates to the Command Post system for better social interactions. And in Home Mode, players can now decorate their space with Polar Wonderland and Esports Room themes, plus fun new interactives like a Merry-Go-Round and Electric Guitar.
World of Wonder Expands
Creators, rejoice! World of Wonder (WOW) gets a massive overhaul with a new Resource Center, shared prefabs, new vehicles, and wild items like the Swordfish Syringe and Salted Fish Rocket Launcher. Players can now design missions, earn WOW Pass rewards, and join community events that spotlight top creators.
What’s Next?
PUBG MOBILE is also teasing some big-name collaborations — a luxury fashion house, a premium car brand, and the return of a global K-pop icon. If this year’s frosty update is any sign, 2025 is shaping up to be PUBG MOBILE’s most creative era yet.
