Kuala Lumpur, 6 August 2025 – Get ready for a major technology event! The ASEAN Technology Cooperation & Development Summit 2025 has been officially launched, promising to be a game-changer for tech innovation in the region. This exciting summit, a side event of WE2025: Future in Motion, is happening on 25-26 November 2025 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.
Deputy Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, YB Dato’ Haji Mohammad Yusof bin Apdal, led the soft launch, highlighting Malaysia’s goal to become a regional leader in innovation. The summit is all about driving technology cooperation and helping Malaysia transition from a technology user to a global technology developer by 2030. It will also support the priorities of Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship and the broader mission of WE2025 to promote inclusive innovation and sustainable development.
Hosted by Intrinsic SEA and co-hosted with WE2025, the event will bring together over 100 companies, 50 global investors, and 2,000 innovators from across ASEAN, China, Canada, Australia, the Middle East, Europe, and Japan. This strong international presence proves Malaysia is becoming a key innovation hub. The event will feature a big tech exhibition with more than 100 booths showcasing cutting-edge innovations. It will also be live-streamed, with over 50,000 expected viewers, further solidifying Malaysia’s role as an enabler of ASEAN collaboration in science and technology.

The summit will focus on five key areas:
- Future Mobility & Smart Transportation
- Future Healthcare & Digital Medicine
- Future Consumer & Digital Commerce
- Future Building & Safety Emergency Response
- Future Employment & Entrepreneurship
There will be plenty to see and do, including an opening ceremony with keynote speakers, roundtable discussions with ministers and industry leaders, and a special showcase for ASEAN startups and investors.
The Deputy Minister also emphasised the importance of including women in STEM, calling it both an “equity and economic imperative”. He noted that events like this summit are crucial for closing the gender gap by encouraging young women in STEM, creating inclusive workplaces, and providing women innovators with better access to capital and networks.
Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated Malaysia, added that while the summit welcomes everyone, it champions the spirit of WE2025 by making sure women have “meaningful opportunities to lead in tech innovation”.

Ravenna Chen, CEO of Intrinsic SEA, highlighted that the summit is designed to deliver real-world results by aligning regional tech and industry strengths to accelerate projects and foster a globally competitive ecosystem. She sees the summit as a “strategic commitment” that supports Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship, the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN Community, and the shared goals of ASEAN Vision 2045.
This summit is a key part of WE2025: Future in Motion, Malaysia’s top platform for empowering women in trade, investment, and leadership. WE2025, organised by Qube Integrated Malaysia in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, will run from 25-27 November 2025.
Media Questions & Answers

The media representatives were given an opportunity for an interview session with the representative members of Intrinsic SEA. Some of the questions posed during the Q&A sessions are included below.
“What are the expected outcomes of this event?”
– Ravenna Chen, Chief Executive Officer of INtrinsic sea
The summit is designed to support the broader WE2025 mission to drive inclusive innovation, sustainable development, and regional economic leadership. It will provide valuable opportunities for Malaysian entrepreneurs and innovation-driven enterprises to engage with global investors and expand their market access. This international participation reinforces Malaysia’s emergence as a regional innovation hub.
“What are the top five facillitators for this company?”
– michelle lau, Project Director of WE2025
We are currently working with several associations, but the names can’t be disclosed yet (possibly due to confidentiality reasons prior to the official launch). We are also working with Ms. Ravenna, who will be bringing some of the top 50 tech companies from Asian countries and Canada. We cannot name them (they are secrets yet), but we can assure you they are no small companies. So in that area, she’s fulfilling the future tech of AI, which can be an opportunity to learn about.
“There are all kinds of funds. Does Malaysia have funds specifically for women (for this company)?”
– michelle lau, Project Director of WE2025
There are a lot of government incentives for women, but whether it’s specific funds for specific ministries, I don’t think I have the answer. But, I am very certain that, across our multiple industries, many ministries support women in their own casts.
“What can be done to reduce gender diversity?”
– michelle lau, Project Director of WE2025
If I may (this is my personal opinion), I would say that women have progressed so much. Today, women are in their place/position not because of the gender, but because they’re capable. They’re in their current position because of their talents, their skills, etc.—we have progressed immensely. I feel like we should stray away from numbers—we shouldn’t be governed by numbers. Women represent 47% of Malaysia’s population, and we own 220,000 businesses in the country. Women have done so well, but what we can do more is, let’s support each other. We can work together with men to see improvements and to live prosperously.
