Why You Should Start Reading Manga

Loading

Most of the time, an anime is derived from its manga. With the manga being a hit, the animation is foreseen to receive the same wide acceptance as well. Might as well say Mangaka’s (manga’s creator) ultimatum is for their manga being adapted by an animation studio production. Bonus if it becomes a hit anime.

The Downside of Not Reading Manga

Some manga adaptations made it to the limelight like Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, and many more hits that you may know. However, some mangakas might have caught the wrong production’s attention. This happens when an animation production takes advantage of a famous manga among readers (most of them often anime viewers themselves).

So, what happened next? Yes, it butchers the details and plots that were carefully created in the manga. The anime then ends up not doing justice to it, indirectly making people who don’t read have wrong impressions towards the creator. This is one of the main reasons why you should read the manga if it’s available.

Among other benefits of reading manga are;

Easy Access

Everything is at the tip of your fingers now. You don’t need to buy a physical manga to start reading one. Unless you’re a collector. You just need to open your browser or the app store to find the website or platform. You can even read it on the Kindle and coloured ones on the Kindle app!

Plot Details

A vast array of anime consists of 12 – 24 episodes, unless it’s a hit, then you might get more seasons. So, can you imagine how the production is going to cramp the details and scenes in the limited episodes? This results in missing crucial details from the manga that will connect the plots. Manga often offers better plots and storylines. It’s better for those who like to ponder every scene in an anime and akin to investigating characters’ backgrounds.

Early Releases

If you are not a manga reader, have you watched Jujutsu Kaisen? How did you feel when Gojou got sealed by Geto? How did you feel when you found out Nanami and Nobara died? How did you feel when Sukuna took over Itadori’s body and killed everyone in the 140-meter radius of the Dogenzaka area in Shibuya? We – the manga readers knew long before. We knew and in more detailed ways. We knew how the opening song of JJK is foreshadowing what will happen in the Shibuya Incident. (We still cried over the scenes)

What I’m trying to say is, that if you read mangas, you will have the privilege to know what happens next before everybody else. Then you have the privilege of having intense feelings while watching the anime after you have watched everything. Double, no, triple the emotions. That’s it.  If it’s not satisfying, I don’t know what it is.

You should visit Kuantan too, as suggested by Nanami

Early Gems Discovery

Some manga with really good storylines will make you wonder why it has not been adapted yet. The Manga readers community are also very helpful in suggesting underrated manga, which would make you see how vast the industry is. Consider yourself special for discovering diamonds in the rough before others. And the joy you will feel once your gems are finally being adapted…? IT’S EXHILIRATING!

My 2 out of 981329 manga suggestions for you

To close this post, I cannot stress enough that you should start reading manga. You can start with the ones I suggested above, or of your favourite anime, and see what the anime had missed. Enjoy your reading!

Until then, MATA NEE~
