The Vertiv™ CoolLoop Trim Cooler delivers energy efficiency, space savings, and seamless integration for hybrid and liquid-cooled data centers
Malaysia – April 4, 2025 – Vertiv (NYSE: VRT), a global leader in critical digital infrastructure solutions, today announced the launch of the Vertiv™ CoolLoop Trim Cooler, a cutting-edge thermal management solution designed to support the demanding cooling requirements of artificial intelligence (AI) and high-performance computing (HPC) applications. This versatile system is engineered to thrive in diverse climates, making it an ideal choice for hybrid-cooled or liquid-cooled data centres and AI factories.
The Vertiv CoolLoop Trim Cooler sets a new standard for efficiency and compact design, offering up to 70% reduction in annual cooling energy consumption through advanced free-cooling and mechanical operation. It also delivers 40% space savings compared to traditional cooling systems. Built to meet the challenges of modern AI workloads, the system supports fluctuating supply water temperatures up to 40°C and cold plate functionality at 45°C, ensuring reliable performance in high-density environments.
Seamless integration is a hallmark of the Vertiv CoolLoop Trim Cooler. Its straightforward water connections enable easy pairing with the Vertiv™ CoolChip CDU coolant distribution units for direct-to-chip cooling, as well as immersion cooling systems. This simplifies installation, reduces operational complexity, and provides customers with a cost-effective, scalable solution for their cooling needs.
“Asia’s rapid digital transformation and the explosive growth of AI demand cooling solutions that combine high performance with energy efficiency,” said Cheehoe Ling, Vice President of Product Management Asia at Vertiv. “The Vertiv™ CoolLoop Trim Cooler is designed to excel in the region’s varied climates, offering scalable, high-density cooling that cuts energy use, saves space, and streamlines deployment. It’s a future-ready solution that empowers our customers to support their AI and HPC strategies effectively.”
The Vertiv CoolLoop Trim Cooler is also environmentally conscious, utilizing low-GWP refrigerant and offering scalable cooling capacity of up to nearly 3 MW in air-cooled configurations. Its free-cooling coils are optimized for high ambient temperatures, enabling extended operation in free-cooling mode to reduce electrical consumption and CO₂ emissions. Additionally, the system complies with the 2027 EU F-GAS regulations, eliminating the need for costly upgrades to meet future standards.
