Samsung has started rolling out the stable version of One UI 7, its latest Android 15-based software update, for the Galaxy S24 series. The update introduces a refreshed user interface and new AI-powered features, marking the first major OS upgrade for the flagship lineup since its release.
The Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra are the first devices to receive the update, which was initially unveiled alongside the Galaxy S25 series launch in February 2025. Samsung has confirmed that these smartphones will enjoy seven years of software support, making this a significant milestone in their lifecycle.
Phased Rollout and Device Compatibility
The update is being distributed in phases and is available for both Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and Exynos 2400 models. Samsung expects the global rollout to be completed within the next few weeks.
Following the Galaxy S24 series, the update will gradually expand to older Samsung devices, including the Galaxy S, Z, A, M, and F series, in the coming days.
Samsung’s Timing Compared to Competitors
While One UI 7 brings notable improvements, Samsung is among the last major Android manufacturers to deliver the Android 15 update to its premium devices. Competing brands like OnePlus, OPPO, Vivo, and iQOO had already rolled out their Android 15-based updates back in December 2024.
The stable release follows a public beta testing phase conducted over the past few months, allowing Samsung to refine performance and fix bugs before the official launch.
What’s New in One UI 7?
Though Samsung has not disclosed a full changelog, the update is expected to include:
- Visual refinements (smoother animations, updated icons, and system apps).
- Expanded AI features, potentially enhancing existing tools like real-time translation, advanced photo editing, and battery optimization.
- Performance improvements for better efficiency and stability.
As the rollout progresses, users can manually check for the update via Settings > Software Update. Owners of older Galaxy devices can expect to receive the update in the following months.
