With the 2nd season expected to be released in January 2024, let me remind you of how hilarious its 1st season was!
Simply put, Mashle is a combination of the main character’s name, Mash Burnedead and the word muscle. Because Mash has an insane strength of muscles just like One Punch Man’s Saitama. Their daily routines are working out effortlessly. Like Saitama, Mash almost always knocked down his enemy with one hit. Additionally, I think the style of Mash defeating his enemies is more fun since he uses a different style every time, unlike Saitama who only uses a punch.
The Parody Style
Being a parody anime, Mashle infused peals of laughter in every scene especially if you are a big fan of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – and cream puffs. So, Mash is a muggle who lives in a world where people are blessed with magic. Those who do not possess magic power will be purged by the Magic Bureau – sort of a world that Grindelwald and Voldemort dreamt of. Of course, our main character does not possess magic, hence, the intense workout routine.
The Mocks of Harry Potter
Now Mashle is more than just a parody anime. Besides the parody scenes of Harry Potter, Mashle is also centred around Mash, who is an idiot but has a high common sense and empathy. Although he does not know the difference between pushing or pulling a door, he still knows what’s good and what’s bad, he still knows who should be saved, and who should be fought against. There is no argument there, common sense and empathy are essential for humanity.
Conclusion
In my opinion, Mashle: Magic and Muscles was overlooked by most anime viewers. It was released in the Spring of 2023 when people were occupied with Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arch, Oshi no Ko, Yamada-kun to Lvl999, A Galaxy Next Door, Tonikaku Kawaii 2nd Season, and many more. Hurry up 2024!! Can’t wait!
